A return to LIVE rehearsals and concerts!
Our prime concern is to deliver the TYWO program of rehearsals and concerts safely and meeting all the protocols that the reality of life during the pandemic demands.
Health & Safety Plan Click here
The importance of music and the arts cannot be overstated. At a time when all musicians feel the emotional and physical effects of performance having come to an abrupt and prolonged standstill, there is no question that there is an impatience for a return to live music-making.
With the health and safety of musicians and staff being paramount, in full compliance with Health Canada guidelines, and in consultation with Public Health staff, as well as with the parental consent of our underage musicians, we introduce our plan to slowly return to in-person activities.
Auditions
To give our musicians a chance to settle into the new school year and new situations, our audition deadline is Friday, September 24. In compliance with the current social distancing directives, and to ensure the health and safety of both musicians and staff, auditions will be conducted via submitted video. Rehearsals
All in-person rehearsals will take place at the Meridian Arts Centre (formerly the Toronto Centre for the Arts) in North York. Musicians can attend weekly rehearsals in-person with the careful implementation of additional health and safety measures. Participation in our synchronous program requires parental or guardian consent (if the musician is under 18) and a firm adherence to the guidelines and policies outlined in our Health and Safety Plan.
Musicians may opt to participate through our TYWOnline program. In this model, musicians will have an opportunity to join in-person rehearsals through the Zoom platform. A camera will be situated at the in-person rehearsal site and cast through Zoom to allow musicians to rehearse virtually and in real time with their peers. .
Membership Fees
Due to the uncertainty regarding a post-pandemic return to in-person rehearsals, we will continue to monitor Public Health advisories and operate the TYWO program within the strictest safety protocols.
We anticipate that a portion of the season may include a combination of an online, hybrid and cohort ensemble program, with professional coaches to lead sectional and chamber performance. A partial membership fee of $85 will cover the first term, which will include a subscription to a secure digital recording platform.
The fee structure, if any, for the balance of the season will be determined in December 2021, based on the level of program we are able to offer.
