To all TYWO musicians & parents,
The beginning of this season has been a journey of learning and discovery. While we have missed making live music, we have come together in a new way, embracing the technology that is available to us and keeping the TYWO spirit alive.
All this has been accomplished, as promised, without a charge for membership in the first term. Unfortunately, the costs to the organization are ongoing and without fund-raising or concert ticket revenue, we must now reinstate a membership fee to ensure our ongoing sustainability.
The actual cost of membership was budgeted to remain at $475 for the season, which would usually have included approximately 25 weekly rehearsals and 3-4 concerts. This season, being far from usual, the actual cost is somewhat less, at $250 per musician and we are asking for a suggested minimum contribution of $50 per musician towards our costs. If you have a credit held over from last season, it can be applied at this time.
As always, TYWO is happy to help anyone in need of financial assistance from our bursary fund. A bursary application can be downloaded here.
If you are in a position to assist others who have been financially impacted by the pandemic, please consider an increased contribution. A tax receipt will be provided for all contributions in excess of $50.
The Board of Directors thanks you for your support and offers warm wishes for a happy and healthy year ahead and our hope that we may all share the joy of live music in 2021.
