Celebrated composer Arturo Marquéz is a professor at the National University of Mexico. He grew up with musical styles in his childhood which would be the impetus for his later work. This fiery work speaks from the composer’s love for Mexican “salon music.” A TYWO favourite!

Reed’s masterwork “Armenian Dances” is considered by many to be one of his most sophisticated and challenging compositions. It is currently listed as a university-level piece on the MusicFest Canada national syllabus for bands, and one of this band’s favourite works.

Composer John Mackey was in attendance at this concert, and gave valuable insight into his compositions in a workshop with the musicians the day before this event. It was a very enriching experience that the musicians thoroughly enjoyed.
