Dancers a-dancing, bells a-ringing, drums a-drumming and singers a-singing. It’s the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra’s annual holiday concert featuring the Joyful Noise of our three ensembles in an afternoon of holiday classics, familiar tunes, concert masterworks and audience sing-a-longs. There may also be a visit from the North Pole’s number one resident! A musical holiday treat for the whole family!
25 years ago, she was the player from North Toronto Collegiate who sat quietly in TYWO rehearsals bouncing between oboe and English horn. Today, the lovely Sarah Jeffrey is an internationally-recognized soloist, educator and accomplished professional who resides as Principal Oboe of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. In December Sarah returns to TYWO to share her musicianship with our audiences as well as some advice for our young players.
Ontario’s Finest! This November, several Wind Orchestra and Symphonic Winds musicians will also be participating in the 2015 version of the celebrated Ontario Provincial Honour Band, under the direction of American conductor Dr. Donald McKinney.
