For over 20 years, the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra has provided a musical experience of pre-professional calibre to talented young musicians in the Greater Toronto Area.

Since its inception in 1991, well over 1,500 Wind Orchestra, Symphonic Winds and Concert Winds musicians, volunteers and staff have passed through our organization.   Today, there are TYWO alumni in schools as educators and administrators across Canada.  As well, you can find TYWO alumni in major symphony orchestras across Canada, the U.S. and abroad, including the Saint Louis Symphony, Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, the Victoria Symphony, the Winnipeg Symphony, the Calgary Philharmonic and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.  Although not all members go on into a professional career in music, all do share the common bond created from being a part of this family of ensembles.

With respect and gratitude,

The Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
