Ensembles
The Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra comprises three ensembles:
- The Wind Orchestra – the most senior ensemble in the organization made up of advanced high school and post-secondary musicians.
- The Symphonic Winds – for musicians of senior high school age, as well as particularly advanced junior high school students.
- The Concert Winds – for younger, less experienced players with at least one year of playing experience.
In addition, our program often offers smaller chamber ensembles made up of members from the senior Wind Orchestra, including a jazz band, a brass ensemble, percussion ensemble and a clarinet choir. Click here for more information on how to join one of our award-winning enembles.

With respect and gratitude,
The Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
